I love that the inks are beautiful, creamy and come in Altenew’s existing colour family of inks:
And I love that you can actually stamp on darker cardstocks with them. To do this, you will need to build up several layers:
For my project today, I decided on stamp on fabric!
To create this cross stitched card, I cut my aida fabric down to size and stamped on it with my MISTI tool using the Amazing Things Stamp Set using Jet Black, Coral Berry and Ruby Red Mixed Media Inks.
I added some cross stitching with Metallic Gold Thread for some extra texture and also because I love to cross stitch as I find it a very meditative craft!
To finished the card off, I added a die cut sentiment from the Script Words Die Set using some metallic glitter card I had in my stash. I used the Oval Die Set to cut a window out of my blank ivory card and glued in my fabric and sentiment.

As a long time card maker and embroiderer , I can’t believe I’ve never thought to combine my Aida fabric w/ cardstock! This is a gorgeous effect with these inks, and the touch of gold thread stitching is absolutely perfect! Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Stamping on cross stitch fabric is an excellent idea! Get the same idea in look but a much quicker process. Looks good. I’d sure like to be able to invest in these versatile mixed media inks as they are released.

Tania, first of all, thank you for showing how the colors look on dark cardstock. That is so nice to see and for me to be reminded to use my darker cardstock! And second, your card is gorgeous! I would have never thought of combining making a card with cardstock and fabric.
