I'm trying to be more mindful about how I use my t I'm trying to be more mindful about how I use my time, so instead of doom scrolling on my phone, I made a travel analogue bag with just a few small bits that make me happy to keep my hands occupied while I wait for my daughter to finish school or one of her activities.

I want to model better habits for my daughter, so instead of using my phone, I packed a small cross stitch kit (gift from my friend Marshaaaaa @marshavalk ), my Hokusai print cover journal and my current read The Mountain Is You which I have been trying to finish for thr past few months.

My attention span is really shot as I am a very fast reader, and I can't make myself focus long enough to finish more than a few pages at a time. But I must admit, that since I have been consciously doing less screen time, I have been making huge progress with my reading.

I am pleased to report that while my daughter was in her gymnastics class, I managed to do two lines of cross stitch, the only thing slowing me down was that I forgot I was wearing contact lenses and I usually have to take my glasses off for detailed work πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I enjoyed it so much, to have a few minutes of mindful creative practice all to myself, instead of doom scrolling on my phone.

I also have a house purse/analogue bag version that I use at home, and i might share that as well in the near future 😊

Here's to bringing more whimsy into our lives, learning to slow down, be mindful and actually use the things that we have been collecting to give us joy πŸ’•

I'll share a photograph of my cross stitch progress in the comments below πŸ‘€

Have you noticed a longing in yourself to be more mindful or creative in your daily life? Or let me know what you would add into your "analogue bag" 😊

Bad Prints Are Better Than No Prints πŸ‘‘ Start s Bad Prints Are Better Than No Prints πŸ‘‘

Start small, start anywhere, start imperfectly.

✨️ Just Start ✨️

Those short few moments that you take for yourself, to do something creative with your own hands, matters more than we realise.

Take out your gel plate, dust it off and make beautiful, messy, imperfect, bad, wonderful, experimental, just-because gel prints because the process is magical, liberating and exactly the release that we as recovering perfectionists need.

I often get asked how to clean stencils, brayers o I often get asked how to clean stencils, brayers or even dried out brushes. This is my go to process for deep cleaning supplies that are syper covered in acrylic paint.

I try to clean my brayers and stencils as I am working with baby wipes, water or a microfiber cloth, but sometimes they get covered in a thicker layer of paint which needs to be deep cleaned.

I like to use a solution of Murphys Oil, but you can use Biotex as well. I know some people also soak their brayers with alcohol hand gel and a napkin too.

If your brayers are super crusty like mine, then you can soak them overnight in your solution.

I like to deep clean my brayers every few months so I have a " clean slate" to work with 😊

I also find that with some rubber brayers, you can peel the acrylic paint off like a skin (no soaking needed) which you can use in your mixed media art and journals!

As acrylic paint is essentially liquid plastic, try to strain the waste water through a coffee filter or paper towel before dumping the water. Throw the solid paint skin in the rubbish bin so it doesn't clog your drains.

If the paint is falling apart on the brayers and not peeling off in one go, you can use a dedicated cleaning brush to scrub off the paint.

How do you like to clean your brayers, stencils and brushes? Or do you not? πŸ˜‚

(Please note: never use harsh chemicals to clean your gel plate, I will do a separate post on how to do that!)

A 15 minute time lapse of me cleaning my art and c A 15 minute time lapse of me cleaning my art and craft studio.

I'm so lucky to have a room of my own which is a dedicated space for me to unwind, film content and work on my online mixed media, art journaling and gel printing classes.

It's still very much a work in progress and I have purged and donated a lot of my supplies, and now I am working on making it more me 😊

It's my sanctuary, my haven and my safe space πŸ™πŸΎ

It's been a very busy few weeks with the summer holidays and now that Alina is in full time school (eeeeeek where did my baby go?) I have some more space and time to myself. I have plans for upcoming projects, so stay tuned for more updates ✨️

I don't usually like going for hacks, but setting a timer and starting somewhere super small helps me get out of that analysis paralysis procrastination stage and gets me up and going.

I only focused on one part of my room, the one that gets used the most so that i have a nice clean space to start planning the next few months.

I can't believe that almost 20 years ago when i first moved to UK, I started with a small shoebox of supplies and a few stamps and here I am being able to do what I love in a daily basis, thanks to you all 😘

I would love it if you can share photos or describe in the comments below, your art and craft spaces or where you love to spend most of your time with your hobbies 😍

In my full mama feels this week as Alina starts fu In my full mama feels this week as Alina starts full time school in Reception class.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE 😭

I blinked and gone is my chubby bubba and is replaced with another version of my baby who I fall in love with all over again.

She's full of beans, energetic, happy, and has taught me how to be a better version of me. Because I know she is always watching πŸ₯Ή

Sending hugs to all parents who are happy, excited, emotional, perpetually tired, overwhelmed with a smidge of feeling content or all of the above, all at the same time!

Here's to a new chapter, keeping shining bright my angel laddoo.

Mama loves you a lot πŸ’•

You make the world a brighter place to be, full of magical possibilities 🌻
⚠️Trypophobia Trigger Warning⚠️ I bought ⚠️Trypophobia Trigger Warning⚠️

I bought some dried lotus seed pods to try gel printing with (obviously) and a friend mentioned that it is a major trigger for those who have trypophobia πŸ™ˆ

Does this print make you feel uneasy or itchy? Apologies in advance πŸ˜…

It did result in a very cool but alien looking gel print, what do you guys think? Yay or burn it with fire? πŸ˜‚πŸ”₯
