Altenew May 2020 Stamps/Dies/Stencils Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

This release certainly got me inspired to get more creative with my stamps and I especially love the hand lettered alphabet stamp called Mega Brush Alpha which might feature in more of my future projects.
I made an art journal page using the Mega Brush Alpha Stamp Set and Delicate Bouquet Stamp Set and coloured the flowers in using Watercolor Brush Markers in Tropical Fiesta. The background was made using the Metallic Sprays and Embossing Paste.
After stamping the Mega Brush Alpha Stamp Set I every quickly fussy cut out the word which was very easy to do. This means I will be able to create customised sentiments and titles in my projects! The Delicate Bouquet Stamp Set is adorable and I am going to enjoy using it immensely.
Here’s another project I made using Delicate Bouquet, I kept it really simple just stamping it in Permanent Black Ink over my inky background with the matching sentiment from the same set. Recently I’ve been trying to send out more cards to friends and family and I always find that the Thinking of You sentiment fits a lot of different greeting card needs … I like to have these kinds of cards on hand so I can quickly send them out when needed!
I normally have quite a few of these inky backgrounds in my stash and when I have time, I chop them down into my favourite size panel of 4″ x 5.25″ for an A2 card. Altenew’s beautiful stamps make it easy to quickly create cards and projects with big impact! This background was made with the 36 watercolor pan set and the On the Plus Side stencil which I used as a “stamp.”
Here’s another fun card I made using the leaves from the Flowering Cistus stamp set finished off with Mega Brush Alpha. I stamped the flowers with the Sea Shore Ink Cube Set!
I love using leaves to stamp out my own daisy like flowers which is a cool way to use your stamp sets in unusual ways and makes your supplies do double duty! I again used that Mega Brush Alpha set to spell out hugs and cut it out. I used the sentiment from the Flowering Cistus set and masked off the word hugs from the set because I wanted to use the Mega Brush Alpha Stamp as a focal point!
Apologies that this blog post is so photo heavy: once I start crafting, I find it hard to stop! For this card, I did some paint scraping with acrylic paints for the background firstly, and then I used the sentiments from the Shine Like a Diamond Stamp Set. I wanted to add a touch more black to my background so instead of splatters I used Jet Black through the Mixed Sprinkles Stencil.
The word Shine is one of my favourite words to use in my projects, it’s such an uplifting statement to make!
