For my project, I made some really easy loose watercolour flowers using the tubes, they are beautiful, creamy, vibrant and highly pigmented. If you are considering getting a good quality watercolor set, then this is the set for you. Be sure to start off at the Altenew Blog for more inspiration.

I started off with a few squiggly drops of concentrated watercolour in the centre and then with the brush loaded with clean water, I pull the colour away in loose petal like shapes. It was a really meditative process and I loved how zen I felt while making the flowers! I used Quinacridone Magenta and added some light drops of Opera Lemon to the centres before the flowers dried completely. The leaves were painted using Phthalo Green!

Considering how pigmented them are and beautiful they are to blend, I think they are excellent value for money. You don’t have to buy the whole set, you can pick and choose whichever colours you like to try them out!
